Regency's The Abbot Hosts Grand Opening Event in Cambridge, MA

Written by Regency Centers | Nov 15

Regency’s The Abbot recently held its grand opening in Cambridge, MA. With dozens of local community members and partners in attendance, the event celebrated the highly anticipated unveiling of the historic five-story block of contemporary retail, restaurants, and office space located in the heart of Harvard Square.

This grand opening follows several years of extensive rehabilitation to restore and preserve The Abbot’s historic character, while expanding the space and achieving updated environmental safety and accessibility standards. Comprising more than 64,000 SF, the building features an expanding lineup of beloved merchants and modern, creative offices, with available spaces ranging from 3,000 - 11,000 SF.

We are thrilled with the reception by the local community and tenants,” said Sam Stiebel, Vice President, Investments. “This project has been one-of-a-kind for the Regency Centers team, and it’s been incredible to see it all come together. Despite some challenges along the way — including a pandemic — The Abbot is a product of the incredible teams we’ve worked with. We couldn’t be more proud of what has been done, and we look forward to watching our amazing merchants truly bring this building to life.

Located at the entrance to Harvard University in a highly sought-after location with strong demographics, The Abbot’s merchant lineup includes Central Rock Gym, Center for Effective Altruism, F45 Training, The Comedy Studio, Cava, Starbucks, El Jefe’s Taqueria, Tiger Sugar, JP Morgan Chase Bank, Milky Way Life Sciences, and more.
