Back in 2017, various Kohl's locations began selling Amazon gadgets — including smart-home items like the Fire TV and Echo Dot — followed by accepting Amazon returns. Earlier this week, Kohl’s announced an update to this partnership: starting in July, all of its stores nationwide will begin accepting returns for purchased Amazon items.
To streamline this service, Kohls will facilitate a seamless return process, and accept eligible Amazon items — with no box or label required — at no additional customer cost, before shipping packaged items back to one of Amazon’s return centers. Beyond this collaboration, Kohl’s is currently testing out additional methods for encouraging in-store traffic, including dividing some of its stores to create room for additional tenants relevant for its shoppers — like grocers or fitness centers.
“Within hours of the announcement release, the company’s shares surged nearly 10%,” as stated by CNBC. “Kohl’s stock has climbed about 22% over the past 12 months, bringing the company’s market cap to about $11.9 billion.”
