--- title: "Fresh Picked Retailer, Summer 2015: Q-BBQ" description:

If there is one kind of food that the South is famous for, it’s barbecue. For many, it’s a topic of much debate as to which state does this famous food preparation style the best. Even the definition of the word, “barbecue” is a controversial topic depending on where the chef, consumer, or culinary anthropologist is from

Instead of trying to take one approach to many styles of BBQ, they are taking the specialties from each region of the country and putting them into one meat-filled location. Wings from Memphis, Kansas City burnt ends, Carolina pulled pork, and brisket prepared in traditional Texas style all populate the menu of this varied yet specialized menu. Discovered by senior leasing agent [Rick Spector](http://www.regencycenters.com/agent/rickspector/#.Vcj9xRNVhBc), this unique tenant wasn’t sourced from a broker or trade show, but by the fact that Rick was a customer. “Surprisingly or not surprisingly, there is a good amount of quality BBQ restaurants in Chicago. This operator’s original location is only a few miles away from the Chicago office and happened to be my favorite of them all. I had been going here for years and given the extremely strong QSR and restaurant sales at our development in Schererville, I thought BBQ (and especially Q-BBQ) was a perfect fit.” Keep an eye out in the near future for opening dates! ##### Connect With Us [Join Our Mailing List](https://www.regencycenters.com/connect-with-us/)  > [Explore Our Markets](https://www.regencycenters.com/properties/our-markets)  > [Find a Space For Your Place](https://www.regencycenters.com/properties)  > ##### Related Stories [Dec 30 Regency Centers Recognized Among 250 Best-Managed Companies in 2022](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/regency-centers-best-managed-companies-2022) [Dec 16 Regency Team and Persimmon Place Give Back to Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/regency-and-persimmon-place-give-back-stanford-health-care) [Feb 25 LUXE Wearhouse Opens Second IL Location; Provides Boutique Experience](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/vernon-hills-mellody-farm-luxe-wearhouse-opening) [Aug 14 Southbury Green Honored for Outstanding Landscape Design in Southbury, CT](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/southbury-green-honored-for-outstanding-landscape-design-in-southbury-ct) [Jun 27 A New Urban Farm Has Sprouted at Regency’s Mellody Farm](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/urban-farm-sprouted-at-regencys-mellody-farm) [Sep 21 New Staircase Mural in Full Bloom at Regency’s Grand Ridge Plaza](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/new-staircase-mural-in-full-bloom-at-regencys-grand-ridge-plaza) [May 09 Carmine’s Eatery Reopens at Regency’s Newtown Square After Renovations](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/carmines-eatery-reopens-at-regencys-newtown-square-after-renovations) [May 02 Serramonte Center’s Jagalchi Brings a Taste of Korea to the Bay Area](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/serramonte-centers-jagalchi-brings-a-taste-of-korea-to-the-bay-area) [Mar 18 ShopRite Launches at Regency's Glenwood Green With Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/new-shoprite-launches-at-regencys-glenwood-green-with-ribbon-cutting-ceremony) [Jan 23 The Shops at Stone Bridge Takes Shape With Exciting New Retailers](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/the-shops-at-stone-bridge-takes-shape-with-exciting-new-retailers) [Dec 05 Tatte Bakery & Café Opens at Regency’s Westbard Square](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/tatte-bakery-café-opens-at-regencys-westbard-square) [Nov 15 New Grocers Expand in Regency’s Portfolio With Two Southern California Openings in 30 Days](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/new-grocers-expand-regencys-portfolio-with-two-southern-california-openings-in-30-days) [Feb 05 Regency Centers Announces Lone Tree Village Development in Colorado](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/regency-centers-announces-lone-tree-village-a-king-soopers-anchored-retail-destination-serving-the-ridgegate-community) [Sep 24 Regency Centers Unveils Ellis Village Center in Northern California](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/regency-centers-unveils-ellis-village-center-in-northern-california) [Jul 24 Regency Centers Completes $357M Portfolio Acquisition in Southern California](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/regency-centers-acquisition-southern-california) [Jan 07 Out of Office: Jill Caffey's “Everesting” Climb of a Lifetime](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/out-of-office-jill-caffeys-climb-of-a-lifetime) [Nov 09 Out of Office: Hit the Slopes with Gary Fields and Eric Ryan](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/out-of-office-hit-the-slopes-with-gary-fields-and-eric-ryan) [Oct 27 Out of Office: Erika Omana Mentors through 'Minds Matter' Los Angeles](https://connect.regencycenters.com/blog/out-of-office-erika-omana) Subscribe [![Regency Centers](https://www.regencycenters.com/ResourcePackages/Regency/assets/dist/images/regency-centers.svg)](https://connect.regencycenters.com/) -
