Recently, merchants, customers and community members gathered at Grand Ridge Plaza in Issaquah, WA to celebrate its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in the true spirit of giving. The holiday event featured live music and performances by five Issaquah School District choirs featuring more than 500 students, followed by the highly anticipated 7th annual lighting of the Giving Tree.
More than 2,500 community members attended with donations in tow to help local families in need through the support of Eastside Baby Corner, a local organization with a mission to strengthen families, build resilient kids and reduce inequity for a stronger community through the procurement, packaging and distributing of critical essentials for children living in poverty or distress.
The team at Grand Ridge Plaza couldn't be happier about this year's Tree Lighting Ceremony turnout," said Hilary Shure, Marketing and Events Manager. "We are so thrilled to join forces with the work that Eastside Baby Corner is doing in our community, and look forward to doing our part to support them year after year.
Event attendees were encouraged to fill the Eastside Baby Corner truck with gently used donation items promoting health, safety and school readiness for children including formula, diapers, car seats, books, warm coats, clothes and cribs. Eastside Baby Corner representatives also informed guests about needed items through wish tags that were placed on the tree for guests to take home.
A flagship property located in Issaquah Highlands, Grand Ridge Plaza is one of the market's top demographic areas, anchored by key retailers including Safeway, BevMo!, Regal Cinemas, Ben & Jerry’s, barre3, Marshalls, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ulta and Orangetheory Fitness.
