Regency Centers Acquires Mount Sinai Shopping Center in Long Island

Regency Centers is pleased to announce the acquisition of Mount Sinai Shopping Center, a well-established retail destination located in Mount Sinai, New York. Positioned just minutes from Port Jefferson along the high-traffic NY-347/25A corridor, the property offers strong visibility and convenient access within one of Long Island’s most desirable trade areas.

Now renamed Crystal Brook Corner, the center will undergo a comprehensive transformation designed to enhance the customer experience and better serve the surrounding community. Planned improvements include façade upgrades and parking lot enhancements, as well as the addition of a new grocery anchor as part of a broader remerchandising strategy. Together, these updates will help reposition Crystal Brook Corner as a vibrant daily-needs destination for local residents.

The redevelopment will be anchored by Whole Foods Market, marking the grocer’s ninth location on Long Island, including Regency’s other current redevelopment, The Shops at SunVet. The addition reflects the strong spending power of the surrounding area and reinforces the center’s long-term potential within one of the region’s most affluent trade areas.

Rebecca-Wing-headshotThe acquisition of this center allows us to apply Regency’s long-term ownership and operating expertise to a property with exceptional fundamentals,” said Becca Wing, Vice President of Investments at Regency Centers. “Its proximity to healthcare institutions, established neighborhoods, and major regional roadways creates a compelling opportunity to reposition the center in a way that delivers lasting value for both the community and our retail partners.

Façade and parking lot improvements will begin soon, with remerchandising efforts continuing as Regency advances its long-term vision for Crystal Brook Corner.
