The Pink Nickel Opens at Brooklyn Station on Riverside

Vibrant colors, bold patterns, bohemian-style apparel and affordable accessories abound at the recently opened The Pink Nickel boutique. The 1,621-square-foot space at Jacksonville's Brooklyn Station on Riverside is the second (and largest) Pink Nickel location in town, and owner Angela Widener couldn't be more excited. Her passion for fashion is seemingly contagious.

One caveat—the locally based boutique exclusively features womens' clothing. While perusing the merchandise, you're greeted by a colorful selection of dresses, maxidresses, shirts, tank tops, pants and rompers, which are all neatly displayed on pink wooden hangers. Shelves, some of which are still being installed, feature an array of purses, wallets, clutches and candles. There are plenty of necklaces, watches, earrings and bracelets, and if you're having trouble pairing something together or deciding what to buy, a well-dressed and accessorized Angela eagerly serves up excellent recommendations. It's like having a personal shopper along for the haul!

"Opening The Pink Nickel in Brooklyn Station was a dream come true for me, and my team," Widener said. "We felt that adding a trendy, affordable boutique to the area would be icing on the cake for the surrounding businesses."

New items rotate in frequently (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, to be exact), as evidenced by the shop's up-to-date Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest feeds. "We love helping our customers find the perfect outfits for both their everyday needs and special events," Widener continued. "I don't like to repeat items, so once it's gone—you won't really see it again!"

Senior leasing agent Patrick McKinley agrees. "We are thrilled to have The Pink Nickel open its second location in Jacksonville, at Brooklyn Station. Customers will enjoy the boutique's fashion-forward women's offerings, and the store's beautiful buildout."

Stop by and check out this new retailer after enjoying lunch at The Corner Bakery or before grabbing groceries at The Fresh Market. The grand opening date will be announced soon, but for now hours are Monday through Friday, 11 until 6, and Saturdays 10 to 5.
