Regency Announces Winners of 2024 ouRCommunities Annual Giving Program

Written by Regency Centers | Jan 9

The spirit of giving shines brightest when people come together to make a difference. This year’s ouRCommunities annual giving program once again highlights the heart of Regency’s employees, with nearly 50% participating in the voting process.

ouRCommunities began in 2020 as a platform that allows Regency employees to direct corporate giving. Our employees nominate organizations they believe in, and proposals are evaluated based on their mission, impact, and plans for the funding. The top three organizations, as chosen by employee votes, receive funding to support their work. We’re thrilled to announce this year’s winners!

1st Place: Child Cancer Fund

The Child Cancer Fund provides critical support to children and families navigating the challenges of pediatric cancer. With the ouRCommunities gift, 10 families will attend the 2025 Family Retreat Weekend at Camp Boggy Creek — a free, medically safe, and relaxing camp experience. This special weekend fosters connection and camaraderie as families share support, engage in fun activities, and build cherished memories. It’s a much-needed reprieve during an incredibly challenging journey, offering moments of fellowship and hope.

2nd Place: Giving Closet Project

The Giving Closet Project addresses clothing insecurity among students, ensuring they have the confidence and resources needed to succeed in school and beyond. The ouRCommunities gift will fund the completion of a hub build-out, stock the hygiene closet, and assemble 200 emergency care kits for students facing homelessness and extreme hardship. These kits will include essentials such as toiletries, laundry detergent, and hygiene supplies — helping PreK-12 students and their families overcome barriers to education and well-being.

3rd Place: Comfort Zone Camp

Comfort Zone Camp provides free grief support to children through a healing camp experience. The ouRCommunities gift will fund 3-day camp weekends, covering the $600 cost per child, along with expenses for their mentor and group leader/therapist. Because all programs are offered at no cost to families, each donation directly determines how many children can access this life-changing support. This funding ensures that finances are never a barrier to the healing, connection, and hope these children need on their journey forward.

Connecting with our communities is at the heart of our culture,” said Amy D'Olimpio, Senior Vice President, Human Resources. “Through the ouRCommunities program, we’re proud to support organizations that are driving lasting change. This initiative allows us to contribute to meaningful causes while also engaging our employees in meaningful ways.

Initiatives like the ouRCommunities program remind us of the power of collective action. By offering employees the opportunity to direct corporate giving, we not only support remarkable organizations but also strengthen the communities where we live and work.

Thank you to everyone who participated this year. Your votes and nominations are making a lasting impact. Congratulations to the 2024 winners — we can’t wait to see the difference you’ll make!
