Regency Centers Acquires Melrose Market in Seattle

Jacksonville, FL (February 12th, 2019) – Regency Centers has purchased 21,000-square feet of urban city retail. Located in the Pike/Pine corridor of the Capitol Hill neighborhood, this property lives in an area with extremely high barriers to entry. It is Regency’s 14th property in the greater Seattle market, and widens the Company’s footprint with four other sites within a 15-mile drive time. This includes Broadway Market, which resides in close approximation to Melrose Market within the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

“Melrose Market is an incredible property located near some of the most notable points of interest for the area,” said Craig Ramey, Managing Director for Regency Centers. “The fundamentals here are excellent, and it truly embodies a sense of place and destination due to the surrounding eateries and lifestyles. The combination of its location, demographics, and merchandising make it the perfect asset for a long time to come.”

Melrose Market is home to award-winning restaurants, food purveyors, micro retail, and rooftop dining. It looks directly over the original Starbucks Reserve & Roastery, and is one block away from the in-development Convention Center, due to complete in 2022. The thoughtfully designed and adaptive reuse of the two historic buildings; including old-growth timber beams, steel braces, and exposed brick, create a vibrant experience for its patrons. The wider area is known for its world-class cuisine, eclectic nightlife, and pedestrian-friendly storefronts. With an ever-growing population of residents as well as visitors, along with continuing investment to the enhancement of the area, Melrose Market sits in a prime location for the future.
