66 percent of shoppers in the US say they are likely to shop on black friday statistic

Accenture’s annual holiday shopping survey found that two-thirds (66 percent) of US consumers say they are likely to shop on Black Friday, compared to 55 percent who planned to do so in 2013. Additionally, US consumer enthusiasm for Black Friday shopping has reached its highest level in eight years. Of those planning to spend more, 28 percent have more discretionary income and 22 percent noted that they have greater job security.

The survey also indicates that shopping on Thanksgiving Day is becoming ingrained as a holiday tradition, with 45 percent of US consumers planning to do so. Of those, 47 percent said they will be shopping in a physical store between 6 pm Thanksgiving Day and 5 am Black Friday.
