Regency Centers’ [Westbard Square](https://www.westbardsquare.com/) in Bethesda, MD, recently marked a major milestone with its official grand opening — a vibrant, two-day event that brought together local artisans, live entertainment, and the community at large. The event was hosted in partnership with [URBNmarket](https://www.urbnmarket.com/), the D.C. region’s premier artisan market organizer known for curating unique shopping experiences that spotlight small businesses and handmade goods.

**A Celebration of Craft and Community**

Set along Zenith Outlook — the shopping center’s main street — URBNmarket transformed Westbard Square into a bustling pop-up market filled with creativity and community spirit. Dozens of local vendors set up shop, offering everything from handmade jewelry to small-batch pantry staples and pet treats. Highlights included:

- [Amano Real Fruit](https://amanorealfruit.com/) – delicious handcrafted preserves
- [Barbie’s Doggie Bakery](https://www.barbiesdoggiebakery.com/) – all-natural treats for furry friends
- [Bianca + Jean](https://www.biancaandjean.com/) – handmade thoughtful fabric design
- [Blazing Bella Balsamic & Olive Oil](https://blazingbella.com/collections/olive-oil?srsltid=AfmBOopGDK-xdxRfYiUI5zGsb4j2r-iYUsWdPpbz191VPbalVcm-rUmK) – gourmet oils and vinegars
- [Golden Bond Jewelry](https://www.goldenbondjewelry.com/) – fine permanent jewelry
- [True Honey Teas](https://www.truehoneyteas.com/) – locally blended teas and infusions
- [Violet Red Studio](https://violetredstudio.com/) - wall art and stationary

**A True Neighborhood Gathering Spot**

Throughout the weekend, guests of all ages — and even their pets — explored Westbard Square’s newly completed green space. The open-air plaza featured lounge seating, family-friendly games like cornhole, and live music performances on the newly inaugurated stage. The event brought Westbard’s vision to life: a welcoming, community-first destination where people can shop, connect, and unwind.

> Westbard Square’s grand opening celebration was absolutely fantastic,” said [Krista Di Iaconi](https://www.regencycenters.com/employee/2043/Krista-Di-Iaconi), Managing Director. “I enjoyed meeting so many of the vendors—several of whom lightened my wallet—and was impressed with the variety and quality of offerings. It was especially meaningful to see the vision we’ve held for this project for more than eight years come to life.
