18|8 Fine Men’s Salons
EighteenEight.com | 24 units open including 4S Commons Town Center, expanding nationally
- Offers more than haircuts – face & scalp treatments, nails, shaves, waxing, coloring, full grooming packages. Lounge areas, “member” perks, micro-brew on draft.
- Tailored to Men: “We pride ourselves as a full service, fine men’s hair salon that caters, understands, and cares about the specific genetic styling and grooming needs of a man. Why would a woman’s hair salon truly care about the peculiarities of a man’s hair growth? Or loss? Or thinness? Or how, and why, a man’s hair grays at a much different pace than hers?”
- Smart business: “With respect to his success with the 18|8 brand, Scott credits being a student of Starbucks and Apple – he tries to emulate and bring characteristics of those icons into 18|8, specifically Steve Jobs’ design genius and Howard Schultz’ sales and marketing genius. Scott states that “Jobs was a huge fan of design ‘design makes a difference’, and that Schultz practices “retail and detail” to create a product that is greater than the sum of the parts, creating an experience around a commoditized cup of coffee. Scott credits his success with 18|8 with emulating both of those iconic companies.”
Blu Jam Cafe
BluJamCafe.com | El Camino Shopping Center, expanding selectively in SoCal
- Restaurant concept run by Chef Kamil Majer who is an internationally trained chef and has over 25 years of fine dining and hospitality experience. At Blu Jam he offers gourmet style breakfast and lunch dishes served at a reasonable price point in a comfortable/casual environment.
-
We wanted to find a tenant that was known for their full-service breakfast, but also for being able to bring a special dynamic to the shopping center. As we put together a short list if ideal replacements, Blu Jam Cafe was amongst the top. They were a tenant we found to be a realistic fit having already ventured from Los Angeles to a valley location in Sharman Oaks. Their product, environment, gourmet style dishes at reasonable prices, 2,200 Yelp reviews with stellar ratings, 4,400 likes on Facebook, and wait times of over 2 hours on the weekends made them an easy choice.
-
Overall, we believe Blu Jam Cafe is a perfect fit for the El Camino Shopping Center and they will not only benefit the tenants around them, they will create a regional draw to the shopping center and become a major destination.

Nueve
Yelp.com/biz/nueve-san-bruno-3 | Bayhill Shopping Center
- A new Mexican concept from the same group who started Crepevine in San Francisco. Nueve's space includes an elevated 500 SF patio complete with heat lamps, umbrellas, and Tivoli lights.
- Nueve will activate the entrance to Bayhill and will be a large draw for the employees in the large office park across the street.
Glacier Ice Cream
GlacierIceCream.com | Kent Place
- Having been approached by all the national ice cream concepts and flooded by the yogurt craze, we were intrigued by a small franchised ice cream and gelato concept that had won successive awards in Boulder for the “Best Ice Cream.” A local, well-respected “Mom and Pop” franchisee was intrigued enough to want to invest and open a location. Having been in the restaurant business, they understood a good location and concept when they saw it.
- We recommended roll-up doors adjacent to the patio to “activate” the area in the summer which they installed. They have quickly become a fixture at the shopping center by cross-marketing their product at the neighboring restaurant and other off-site locations, holding events and connecting with the neighborhood. Peyton Manning, John Elway and the like frequent the shop as well as people from outside of the trade area, a testament to the unique experience they provide.
The Wild Blue Boutique
Belleview Square
- The owner approached us in 2011 with a lot of confidence, strong retail background and a vision to open her own boutique when she and a former partner were dissolving their partnership. With an immense passion to succeed, she built out and decorated the space on a shoestring budget, doing a lot of the fixturing with simple tables and cute chandeliers, allowing the merchandise to speak for itself – and that it did. Along with her extremely personal connections with the moms and daughters in the neighborhood, she began to host evening parties with wine and food to showcase new lines. The approach resonated with the customers and she has a loyal following due in part, to a constant turning of new and interesting items.
- This is an example of a center where we have enough restaurants already—the parking is tough as a result—and another restaurant would have wreaked havoc. This tenant complements the restaurants and the grocer anchor.
Grub Burger
GrubBurgerBar.com | Brighten Park
- Three locations in Texas and a recent deal in Atlanta is their fourth.
- We are giving them artistic license to upgrade the exterior finishes and will coordinate with them through the redevelopment.
Memphis BBQ
MemphisBBQCo.com | Ashford Place
- We were looking for a solid restaurant to complement this center and backfill a 7,000 SF restaurant space and needed something casual that would drive traffic. Anchored by Harbor Freight Tools, this use appeals to the male customer who is in the center often. Memphis BBQ has won TEN World BBQ Championship awards. They have three locations and are expanding.
Novo
SottoSottoRestaurant.com | Dunwoody Hall
- Novo is chef-driven and will serve artisan pizzas – the owner runs two highly successful Italian concepts in other parts of Atlanta (Sotto Sotto, Fritti) with large followings.
ivivva
ivivva.com | Dunwoody Village
- ivivva is lululemon’s concept for young girls; it was created in 2009. They are expanding into new markets and Dunwoody Village was a perfect choice for them with the large numbers of active and affluent families in the area, combined with the unique tenant mix that draws families with kids.
- Ivivva strives to have a connection with their local communities, hosting yoga, mother/daughter events, etc. They are very happy and love their co-tenancy.
Lemon Drop Shoppe
www.LemonDropShoppe.net | Sandy Springs Plaza
- Unique retail boutique expanding in the Atlanta market. Consider themselves “community lifestyle boutiques,” with product offerings that are tailored to the community and change often based on trends and seasons.
- They have a program to consistently give back to their communities, which appeals to today’s shoppers who appreciate shopping with a “giving” organization.
