Regency Centers' Persimmon Place, a 150,000-square-foot development in Dublin, California, celebrated its grand opening October 18. The Inaugural Persimmon Pairing Festival was alive with food samples, free flowing wine, live music, cooking demonstrations and copious family-friendly activities.
Tickets for the tasting portion were $5, and $10 for the food and wine pairing (complete with keepsake wine glass). Local vineyards represented included Concannon Vineyard, Boisset Collection, Crooked Vine & Stony Ridge Winery, The Steven Kent Winery, Nottingham Cellars and Vasco Urbano Wine Company. A total of $3,451.72 was raised and proceeds benefited local Alameda County Community Food Bank.
Attendees savored tastings from Persimmon Place eateries including Pacific Catch, Starbucks, Sur La Table, Urban Plates, Vitality Bowls, Whole Foods Market and Yalla Mediterranean.
Among the activities were cooking demonstrations by Sur La Table and Whole Foods Market, a caricature artist, live music by area band Pride & Joy, and a kids' zone complete with games, contests, face painting, balloon art, photo booth, persimmon decorating and more.
