Aventura Shopping Center Construction Developments

Written by Regency Centers | Aug 4

Delivering fall 2017, Regency Centers Aventura Shopping Center is currently undergoing a ground-up, state-of-the-art redesign, that includes a reconfigured layout and exciting new retail lineup.

“Our shopping center is located in a vibrant and diverse trade area,” said Mike Kinsella, Senior Vice President, Senior Market Officer for Regency Centers. “In order to capitalize on the exceptional market opportunity, we fostered this project for nearly a decade and are excited to see its transformation. Anchor Publix will operate in a 49,000 SF elevated podium concept with customer parking underneath the store. We plan to bring a blend of strong national and unique local retailers to the center."

Located in northeast Miami’s highly affluent Aventura suburb, the prominent Publix-anchored center shares the same busy thoroughfare as the Aventura Mall, which has 28 million visitors annually and was ranked the No. 2 mall in the country by Town and Country magazine.

"Upon completion, our new Aventura center will provide the community with the highest-quality neighborhood shopping experience in this dynamic trade area,” continued Mike.

Wanting the center to stand out from the South Florida architecture, Regency designed the its to encompass contemporary lines, open-concept storefronts, metal TPO roofing, with wood and stone tile accents. Brightly colored awnings and lush landscaping will enhance the center’s warm color palette.

“There is a level of sophistication and energy surrounding the high-end communities of Aventura,” explained Doug Pearl, Vice President of Architecture and Placemaking for Regency Centers. “Updates to our center reflect the local customer, and the design will distinguish itself among the area’s shopping and dining options.”

Developers tore down the existing center to provide a blank canvas for the 85,834 SF of new construction. Plans for a 49,334 SF unique, podium format Publix provides its customers with covered parking beneath the structure. In addition, the site will contain more than 21,800 SF of retail and restaurant space.

Construction started this month and the center is scheduled to open late 2017. For leasing opportunities or to obtain additional information about the redevelopment, contact leasing agent Sarah Rowe at 561-630-2314 or SarahRowe@RegencyCenters.com.
