Regency’s Ballard Blocks shopping center in Seattle, WA recently hosted the We Love Our Neighbors Community Pop-Up, a donation drive supporting local families in need through Ballard Food Bank and partners, The Bridge Care Center, and Seattle Dogs Homeless Program.
In partnership with local organizations including Sustainable Ballard and Two Feet Project, the event supported Ballard Food Bank’s mission: to bring food and hope to our neighbors — because there can be enough for everyone. Established in the early 1970’s, the food bank offers a variety of services including access to nutritious food, home delivery, the Weekend Food for Kids program, and the Community Resource Hub, which connects people to housing, medical care, and veterans’ benefits, all under one roof.
Requested donation items included non-perishable food, full-size hygiene products, clothing, and pet food and supplies. Attendees were also encouraged to enter the “You Give, We Gift” giveaway, which featured daily prize packs as well as a grand prize including a $350 gift card to Ballard Blocks, and the 2021 Fall Collection set by Cathedral Candles. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about the important work of each participating organization serving the community, snapped photos at the Show Us Your Heart photo wall, and received a sweet treat in return.
At Regency, we wholeheartedly believe in connecting with and serving the communities in which we live and work,” said Patrick Conway, Senior Vice President, Senior Market Officer. “While we are humbled to play a part in bringing the Ballard community together now more than ever, this effort wouldn’t be possible without our incredible partners and collaborators in the Northwest Seattle area.
Regency Centers is proud to have contributed $5,000 to Ballard Food Bank toward the purchase of holiday turkeys — resulting in 853 pounds of food — for families in need.
This event was truly the product of a community effort, and wouldn't have been possible without everyone who played a part in making it happen," said Alisa Taggart, Property Marketing Manager. "Beyond donating to important community organizations and collecting 853 pounds of food, 'We Love Our Neighbors' helped cultivate new relationships, brought new customers to the shopping center, and created lasting impact in the Ballard neighborhood.
Located just north of downtown Seattle, in a growing community that's home to an influx of young families and professionals, Ballard Blocks is anchored by key retailers including Trader Joe’s, PCC Community Markets, Sephora, The Egg & Us, Top Pot Doughnuts, West Marine, The UPS Store, Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids, and more.
