Written by Regency Centers | Aug 5

Recently, Central Market reopened its doors at Regency’s Preston Oaks shopping center in Dallas, TX. The grocery anchor — which is a division of H-E-B — has spent the past 20 months reimagining, restoring and rebuilding the location after sustaining severe tornado damage in October of 2019.

Featuring a European-style layout, bountiful produce department, 80-foot seafood case, 2,500 wine labels, and hundreds of cheese selections from around the world, Central Market opened its doors in Austin, TX in 1994. Today, the grocer boasts 10 locations across Texas, offers products from every continent, and is home to a world-class cooking school featuring hands-on education.

To say we’re thrilled that Central Market reopened its doors at Preston Oaks would be an understatement,” said Lauren Heimann, Senior Leasing Agent. “The new and improved store is absolutely stunning and stronger than ever, and we’ve heard nothing but excitement from returning members of the community so far.

An additional 4,500 SF of selling space has been added to the store, resulting in new and elevated features, partners and products, ranging from more produce and a juice bar, to an updated coffee shop, community room and mezzanine.

Our Central Market partners and the entire Preston Royal community stepped up during this time of rebuilding and recovery,” said Stephen Butt, president of H-E-B’s Central Market Division. “While this was a total community effort, I am especially proud of our Preston Royal partners who have gone above and beyond to continue to serve this neighborhood. The silver lining here is that our Preston Royal store is stronger and better, and we are ready to welcome back our loyal customers to provide them the service and shopping experience they deserve.

In addition to Central Market, the following merchants have committed to make their return — or have already made their return — to the shopping center: Talbots, White House Black Market, Fish City Grill, My Family Pizza, Nothing Bundt Cakes, McDonalds, Preston Animal Clinic, I Heart Yogurt, The Sample House, Hollywood Feed, Tip Top Cleaners, and Prosperity Bank. Preston Oaks will also be welcoming a new, incoming restaurant — D.L. Mack’s — to the mix.
