Renovations were recently completed at Regency’s Corbin’s Corner shopping center in West Hartford, Connecticut. The new improvements include updates to the center’s façade as well as thoughtful placemaking efforts, creating a vibrant and inviting atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
An underutilized breezeway was transformed from a cut-through into a courtyard gathering space by adding lighting, seating, and a bold rose mural on two walls. Local artist Ben Keller drew inspiration for the mural from West Hartford’s Elizabeth Park, which is known for having some of the most beautiful flower gardens in the state of Connecticut.

As part of the project, Regency’s marketing team also refreshed the branding for Corbin’s Corner, which when combined with the mural, will inform future signage and marketing. Banners that incorporate the rose artwork will be installed on new light poles along the sidewalk, creating a cohesive look throughout the center.
Corbin’s Corner was developed on the homestead of Philip Corbin (1824-1910), an American industrialist and manufacturer who founded the P&F Corbin Company. The company was known for selling decorative hardware, including coat and hat hooks, sash fasteners, picture nails, locks, and doorknobs — all of which were known for their intricate and ornate flourishes. Regency paid homage to Philip Corbin by utilizing visuals reminiscent of the products manufactured by his company throughout the center's brand suite.
Corbin’s Corner is a 188,531 SF property located in the heart of the Hartford, Connecticut, trade area. It boasts high traffic throughout the day and night thanks to its strong merchandising mix of retailers, which include Trader Joe’s, J. Crew Factory, Old Navy, The Edge Fitness Clubs, and more. The center also features the only Tesla Supercharger station within 36 miles.
