Houston Astros & The Market at Springwoods Village Partner on Mural

Written by Regency Centers | Oct 24

In the midst of an exciting World Series championship season for Houston, Spring, TX's The Market at Springwoods Village is participating in a city-wide movement to celebrate its hometown team in an exciting new way. In a partnership with both the Astros and Muros — an organization bringing together brands with local artists to create impactful spaces, experiences and mural campaigns — The Market at Springwoods Village has created a space for one of the many murals being created across the city to commemorate each playoff win.

"As soon as the Astros win a game, an artist heads out to a previously-approved undisclosed location and gets to work immediately, bringing the piece to life overnight," explains news source, Chron. For The Market at Springwoods Village mural location, that artist is Jon Garner, and his unique designs are coordinated with and approved by the Astros.

The Market at Springwoods Village team is overjoyed to play its part in such an exciting time for the Houston community," said Abe Pacetti, Vice President, Investments. "We are thrilled to see our Astros back in the World Series, and look forward to seeing other innovative murals continue to pop up throughout our community.

The mural is located on the wall of Jinya Ramen, across from Torchy's Tacos.

Artwork design requirements for these murals includes the display of the winning game score from the night before, as well as the number of X's for each game won so far and the trending #TakeItBack slogan.
