Market Common Clarendon Food Drive Nets 310 Pounds of Food for AFAC

Written by Regency Centers | May 27

Last weekend, the team at Market Common Clarendon teamed up with the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) to serve the local Arlington, VA community with a drive-through food drive. Appropriately named “Stop. Drop. & Drive.,” the socially distanced effort accumulated more than 310 pounds — equaling roughly 620 8 oz. cans — of non-perishable food donations.

With a mission to “feed our neighbors in need by providing dignified access to nutritious supplemental groceries,” the AFAC has been dedicated to its services of obtaining and distributing groceries — both directly and free of charge — to those in need locally since since 1988.

Market Common Clarendon has a very giving customer base as proven by past events,” said Hilary Shure, Marketing and Events Manager. “I knew our local community would rise to action to assist others in need in our community. And as always, our customers came through!

A highly-trafficked 10-acre shopping hub, Market Common Clarendon is home to key retailers including Whole Foods, Pottery Barn, Apple, lululemon, Crate & Barrel and The Container Store, to name a few.
