Market Common Clarendon Hosts Annual President's Day Celebration

Written by Regency Centers | Feb 20

Last weekend, the Arlington, VA community gathered to pay homage to President’s Day at its annual Nats Mascots Celebration at Market Common Clarendon. The creative and family-friendly festivities included Presidential trivia, Nicecream hot cocoa, a dollar bill origami-making station, a photo booth with presidential-themed props, and more. At 3 p.m., guests gathered around The Loop to watch the main event: the racing presidents mascots from the Washington Nationals battling it out with a race.

After celebrating the Washington Nationals championship win last year, and with spring training season right around the corner, the President's Day event provided a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and show their team spirit. It also honored former presidents in a family-friendly environment featuring the beloved George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.

At Market Common Clarendon, we’ve hosted the Washington Nationals Racing Presidents for several years,” said Hilary Shure, Regency Centers' Marketing and Events Manager. “The community and the merchants love and anticipate the mascots’ visit. And the Nationals did win the championship in 2019, which makes the event even more exciting. We like to celebrate the holiday in a fun and educational way, and look forward to many more to come!

An iconic 10-acre hub located steps from the metro on one of the best shopping streets in Arlington, Market Common Clarendon is anchored by a host of key retailers including Whole Foods, Pottery Barn, Barnes & Noble, Crate & Barrel, The Container Store, Jumping Joeys, The Cheesecake Factory and Ethan Allen
