Following a two-and-a-half-month hiatus, Carmine’s Eatery has officially reopened at Regency’s Newtown Square Shopping Center in Newtown Square, PA. Formerly known as Carmine’s Pizzeria, the restaurant rebranded and closed for renovations earlier this year, leaving behind its casual menu and design in favor of a more refined atmosphere.
Kosta and Christos Nikolos, the father-son duo behind Carmine’s, spared no expense in the eatery’s remodel, importing furnishings from Greece to create a more authentic ambiance. Improvements include a renovated interior with floor-to-ceiling windows, an open kitchen, and a cocktail bar. The pièce de résistance is a top-of-the-line brick oven, replacing the establishment’s conveyor oven.
Under the culinary direction of new head chef Imed Grami, the revamped menu boasts a fusion of modern American and Mediterranean flavors. Chef Grami, who was most recently the head chef at Brick & Brew Havertown, brings a Tunisian flair to classic Greek and Italian cooking.
Signature dishes include shareables like Dakos, Grilled Octopus, and Greco Wings, as well as entrees like Souvlaki and Seafood Risotto. But that’s not to say you can’t still grab a great slice of pizza. While continuing to offer classics like Margherita and Pepperoni, the lineup now includes flavors like Gyro and Fig & Bacon. In addition, Carmine’s has elevated old favorites with The Carmine’s Burger, Cheesesteak, and Italian Heat Hoagie.
The Carmine's reopening not only signals a fresh start for the eatery, but a revitalization of the local dining scene,” said David Sherin, Senior Leasing Agent. “We’re excited to welcome back old friends and introduce newcomers to the culinary offerings that await them in Newtown Square.
