On Friday, Passaic, NJ, residents gathered at Regency’s Van Houten Plaza for the grand opening of Food Universe Marketplace, a 9,700+ SF neighborhood grocer catering to the local community.

According to the Key Food family of supermarkets, Food Universe strives to be “everything their customers need them to be.” With convenient locations and an expansive inventory, Food Universe “works every day to go beyond their customers’ expectations to make their savings and their experience nothing short of stellar.”

In addition to daily grocery needs and nonperishable food items, this Food Universe location features a bountiful selection of produce, a large seafood counter with a wide array of fish, a butcher shop and deli counter, fresh sushi and house made tortillas, a hot food bar, and more.

We’re thrilled to have Food Universe Marketplace as our neighborhood grocer that complements the center and will attract new customers in the local community,” said David Sherin, Senior Leasing Agent. “This center became a part of the Regency portfolio with the Urstadt Biddle Properties merger in 2023, and we’re excited to see what its future holds.

A prime location in the heart of Passaic at the intersection of Van Houten Avenue and Brighton Avenue, Van Houten Plaza is additionally home to Dollar Tree and Family Dollar Store.
