New Merchants at The Crossing Clarendon Expand Center’s Dining, Retail Offerings

Written by Regency Centers | Nov 27

From hosting popular events like Loopalooza to welcoming a yoga studio and athletic country club, Regency’s The Crossing Clarendon has been a hub of activity that lives up to its reputation as “Best of Arlington.” Now, three new merchants — Colada Shop, Golden Fox Boutique, and Chip City — are joining the lineup at the Arlington, VA, shopping center.

Slated for early 2024, the Cuban-inspired Colada Shop will be opening its sixth location at The Crossing Clarendon. The shop, which is currently in the build-out phase, will occupy a 2,362 SF space between Laseraway and Lady Octopus Tattoos.

The Colada Shop offers guests a taste of Cuba, serving traditional dishes like croquetas, empanadas, and sandwiches, as well as coffee and cocktails. Founder and CEO Daniella Senior — who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and is also a certified sommelier — founded the company in 2016 “to share the vibrant flavors and colors of the Caribbean with Washingtonians.”

My love for food and hospitality began at the early age of 13 when I founded a successful catering business from my home in the Dominican Republic,” said Daniella Senior, Founder and CEO. “As an immigrant, I am proud to call Washington my home, but I couldn’t find a place that combined my love of good food, coffee, cocktails, and social interactions — and so I created Colada Shop.

The Clarendon outpost will feature a spacious interior as well as available seating on an outdoor patio. Most notably, however, this location will include a thoughtfully designed bar space to create a lively atmosphere for guests to enjoy Cuban-inspired libations.

Golden Fox Boutique

Featuring a collection of elevated apparel, home decor, and gifts, Golden Fox Boutique is redefining the retail landscape in Arlington, VA. The shop, which officially opened at Regency’s The Crossing Clarendon on November 15, offers a bespoke shopping experience that has yet to be found in the area.

Local resident and store owner Paula Frishman recognized an opportunity to fill a gap in the community by creating a shopping destination that offers a high level of customer service and engagement. Inventory, which will be rotated frequently and seasonally, features an eclectic and highly curated assortment of products, including washable vegan leather bags, animal print dish towels, handmade soaps, and locally produced chocolate. Paula, a former nonprofit executive, focuses on sourcing from local artisans, particularly women-owned companies and mission-driven brands.

Golden Fox Boutique occupies a 1,500 SF space near Williams-Sonoma and Ever/Body.

Chip City Cookies

Arlington residents can get their sweet fix at Chip City Cookies, coming soon to The Crossing Clarendon in December 2023. The New York City-based cookie shop will open in a 1,111 SF space toward the back of the shopping center, near SoulCycle and the newly opened Golden Fox Boutique.

Since launching in 2017, the franchise has quickly grown to 26 locations across New York, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, and New Jersey. The Clarendon storefront, which is part of a larger expansion across the D.C. area, will be the first in Virginia.

Cookie lovers can choose from classics like Chocolate Chip and White Chocolate Macadamia, fun flavors like Wild Berry Strudel, or seasonal options like Pumpkin Spice Latte and Sweet Potato S’mores, and wash them down with a glass of whole, skim, almond, or oat milk. Select flavors are also available as Lil’ Chips, an order of 20 miniature-sized cookies.

With the addition of Chip City, Golden Fox, and Colada Shop, The Crossing Clarendon will continue to be Arlington’s go-to shopping destination,” said April Laney, Senior Leasing Agent. “Our thoughtfully curated lineup of merchants is what makes this center continuously voted ‘Best of Arlington.’

The Crossing Clarendon is a 419,950 SF outdoor shopping center serving the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria market. An iconic 10-acre hub, the property is just steps from the metro and situated on one of the best shopping streets in Arlington.
