This week, a group of employees from Regency's legal, HR, marketing, and real estate accounting teams spent the day building a HabiJax (Habitat for Humanity Jacksonville) home for one of the organization's long-time local volunteers. From installing doorknobs and hinges, to hanging blinds and painting walls, the team's hard work and TLC helped build the interior structure of what will be the volunteer's first home of her own.
With a mission of "Seeking to put God's love into action," and a vision for "A world where everyone has a decent place to live," Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build safe, affordable homes, communities, and hope.
Before becoming a Regency employee, I knew I wanted to be a part of an organization that gives back to its community, and encourages its employees to do the same," said Lisa Solomon, Senior Leasing Paralegal. "Regency’s volunteer time off (VTO) was an integral part of my decision to join this organization, and I'm so glad I got to be a part of this project. I’m looking forward to participating in many more volunteer opportunities to come!
Having provided homeownership opportunities and other housing services to more than 2,300 families since 1988, HabiJax is one of the largest non-profit affordable housing builders in Duval County, and one of the most successful Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the United States. I’m so glad I got to join this group in blessing someone who has volunteered so much of her time helping others,” said Caitlin Stone, Marketing Specialist. “If you’re thinking of volunteering, don’t hesitate — by showing up, you are literally changing someone’s life.
