Whole Foods on Voss opened its doors yesterday morning, leaving you with no excuse for not grabbing milk on your way home. The development team was on hand at the grand opening: Arch-Con’s Ricardo Merino; Regency Centers’ Daniel Hoerster, Erik Tompkins and Matt Booth; Arch-Con’s Marc MacConnell; and Regency’s Patrick Krejs and Jon Beer. Marc tells us building the 47k SF facility was challenging—it was a ground-up process within the confines of a bustling, fully operating retail center (Regency’sWoodway Collection). The team also redid the old parking lot, including replacing all the lights with LEDs. (The energy conservation measure is becoming common in the retail market.)

Whole Foods is a replacement for two grocers—a Randall’s was demolished to make room, and this new store replaces an existing Whole Foods at 6401 Woodway. (Besides being newer, it’s twicethe size.) Whole Foods’ adjoining 4k SF of retail is fully leased—Langford Market and Lilly Rain will take occupancy soon. The new store includes an outdoor beer garden and music area.
