The Hyppo Celebrates One Year at Brooklyn Station on Riverside

Popular gourmet hand-crafted popsicle shop The Hyppo, located in Regency Centers' Brooklyn Station on Riverside in Jacksonville, FL, recently rang in its one-year anniversary February 3 with an all-day free pop giveaway — totaling 800.

The 1,200 SF space houses dozens of unique flavored pops — everything from key lime to watermelon basil to bourbon peach and avocado coconut — plus an array of canned beverages and branded merchandise including stickers, T-shirts and small take-home quick popsicle makers.

"We enjoy our neighbors at Brooklyn Station," founder Stephen DiMare said. "It's a great spot to serve both downtown and Riverside and we're close to Zoe's Kitchen, Burrito Gallery and The Fresh Market."

The Hyppo, which currently has nine stores in Florida, is opening its 10th location this spring in nearby historic San Marco. What else is in store for the new year?

"2017 is likely to bring some new homemade dipping options, but more importantly are the juice pops," adds DiMare. "We’ve always used fresh fruit for our pops — and usually all the pulp with it — but juice pops are sweetened only with juice and no cane sugar, which is a new venture for us. They’re incredible flavors typically found at your favorite juice shop, and with none of the guilt of eating sweets."

Healthy juice pops aside, he says the best selling pop at the Brooklyn Station shop is peanut butter pie – a silky combination of creamy ground peanuts, chocolate bits and cream cheese.

Not in Jacksonville but curious about trying The Hyppo's pops? You're in luck: there's a $99 for 27 assortment pack that's available online and can be shipped to any location in the U.S.
