Cult favorite Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream has taken its flavorful concoctions on a cross-country food truck road trip. Jacksonville was one of the truck's Florida destinations (next up: Orlando), and Regency's Whole Foods Market anchored Mandarin Landing was lucky to be one of four local stops.
With creative, hunger-inducing flavors like sweet cream biscuits and peach jam, brown butter almond brittle, gooey butter cake and brambleberry crisp, there's something for all ice cream aficionados. Jeni's — named after founder Jeni Britton Bauer — originated in Ohio back in 2002. There are now ice cream shops in nine states (OH, TN, IL, GA, D.C., NC, MO, SC and CA). The Atlanta location is closest to Jacksonville.
The Jeni's truck offered complimentary scoops, swag and coupons to promote pints being available in select grocery stores including Whole Foods Market, The Fresh Market and now, Florida-based Publix.
