Regency's Westbard Square Celebrates Grand Opening in Bethesda, MD

Regency Centers’ Westbard Square in Bethesda, MD, recently marked a major milestone with its official grand opening — a vibrant, two-day event that brought together local artisans, live entertainment, and the community at large. The event was hosted in partnership with URBNmarket, the D.C. region’s premier artisan market organizer known for curating unique shopping experiences that spotlight small businesses and handmade goods.

A Celebration of Craft and Community

Set along Zenith Outlook — the shopping center’s main street — URBNmarket transformed Westbard Square into a bustling pop-up market filled with creativity and community spirit. Dozens of local vendors set up shop, offering everything from handmade jewelry to small-batch pantry staples and pet treats. Highlights included:

A True Neighborhood Gathering Spot

Throughout the weekend, guests of all ages — and even their pets — explored Westbard Square’s newly completed green space. The open-air plaza featured lounge seating, family-friendly games like cornhole, and live music performances on the newly inaugurated stage. The event brought Westbard’s vision to life: a welcoming, community-first destination where people can shop, connect, and unwind.

Already home to a curated mix of national and local favorites including Giant, Starbucks, Tatte Bakery & Cafe, Citgo, District Dabble Lab, Oak Barrel & Vine, U.S. Post Office, Silver & Sons BBQ, Westbard DentalStretch Zone, Kumon Math & Reading Center, and 1 to 1 Fitness, Westbard Square is poised to become a staple neighborhood hub. Piccoli Piatti Pizzeria is set to open its doors in the coming days, with more tenants to follow.
