Popular Salad Concept, Chopt, Joins NY's The Gallery at Westbury Plaza

In the emerging world of fast-casual joints serving up farm-to-table ingredients with convenient assembly lines and vibrant flavors, eateries like Chopt are changing the way we eat — and more importantly, enjoy — salad. We are eager to announce the arrival of Chopt at The Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City, NY. This marks the third Chopt location in Regency’s portfolio, following Cameron Village in North Carolina and Rivertowns Square in New York. In total, Chopt currently boasts 58 locations across nine states and counting.

Founded in 2001 by close friends Tony Shure and Colin McCabe, the concept was born from the realization that salad doesn’t have to be a side dish, but rather the main entree. Together, they aimed to reinvent salad, making it just as appealing as the American favorite burgers and fries, particularly by offering the luxury of choice. By providing more than 60+ ingredient options and 20+ housemade dressings for customers to choose from, Chopt has become a personalized, customizable experience that appeals to various tastes, cravings and dietary preferences.

2511-fullIn a world where more people care about what goes into their bodies, adding a healthy fast casual concept like Chopt to one of our premier shopping centers was a home run,” said Sean Mirkov, Leasing Agent. "Chopt puts out a great product consistently, and they draw customers in and are a fantastic eatery to have when merchandising a shopping center. This will be the second Chopt in our Connecticut and New York portfolio and we hope we’re able to continue growing the Regency/Chopt relationship to many more locations throughout the country.

Nestled between popular community stopping points including Starbucks, Trader Joe’s, Nordstrom, HomeGoods and Ulta, the salad mecca provides The Gallery at Westbury Plaza shoppers a place to relax and refuel over a nutrient-rich, sustainable meal. We are thrilled to welcome Chopt to the Garden City community and look forward to future locations.
