Recently, the Arlington, VA community gathered at Regency’s Market Common Clarendon development to celebrate a very important day: National Teddy Bear Picnic Day! The family-friendly festivities hosted 220+ local kids and their families, who were encouraged to attend with their favorite teddy bear in tow, and a packed lunch for the picnic.
Guests enjoyed a host of additional goodies throughout the event, starting with more than 450 complimentary frozen scoops from one of Market Common Clarendon’s tastiest vendors, Nicecream. Known for its fresh, locally-sourced grass-fed cream, Nicecream’s liquid freezing agent, nitrogen, creates a unique smoking effect that resulted in an exciting ice cream experience for adults and children alike.
No celebration is complete without music, so local children's music artist Danny Schwartz came prepared with an all-star playlist of bear-inspired sing-a-longs including everything from “The Bear Necessities” to the very fitting “Teddy Bear Picnic.” This was followed by a storybook reading from Barnes & Noble’s Miss Erin, who opted for the classics: The Jungle Book and of course, The Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
We love throwing these creative, kid-friendly events as so many of our Market Common Clarendon customers have school-aged children," said Hilary Shure, Marketing and Events Manager. "This was our second annual Teddy Bear Picnic Day gathering and it was even bigger and better than last year. We look forward to many more teddy bear picnics to come, as well as plenty of kid-friendly festivities in the future!
The newest merchant on the block, Bond’s Escape Room, provided a fun and challenging children’s game with sugary sweet prizes for winners. And to top it all off, guests had the opportunity to take a photo alongside a life-size teddy bear, with a printed out copy to take home as a memento. Regency is proud to be a part of facilitating these family-friendly, fun-in-the-sun Summer events, and we look forward to seeing what the team at Market Common Clarendon comes up with next!
