The Gatorbug, a contemporary women's boutique, recently celebrated a socially distanced opening of its second brick and mortar storefront, located at Regency’s Midtown East in Raleigh, NC. Conceptualized in 2018, the family-owned apparel and accessory shop provides “coastal luxe” style at various price points for women of all ages and sizes.
Owned by family members Catherine Carter, Dawn Carter and Sydney Jarrell, The Gatorbug was established in 2019 at its flagship location in Atlantic Beach, NC. The product of a shared familial love of fashion, shopping and entrepreneurship, it got its name from the family’s late matriarch, Patricia, who coined the nickname as a term of affection.
It’s so exciting to have The Gatorbug open at Midtown East," said Annie Dlugokecki, Leasing Agent. "The gorgeous women’s boutique is fueled by Sydney, Dawn, and Catherine’s stylish taste and passion for what they do. Their energy just shines through in every part of the business.
We had originally planned to keep our stores exclusive to coastal towns and thought our next location would be the Wilmington area,” said Sydney Jarrell, Co-Owner. “Shortly before an appointment we had booked with a commercial real estate broker, I drove through Midtown East to shop at Wegmans. I saw the open space next door to Drybar, called my cousin, and told her I found the perfect location for us. The next day I met with Annie to look at the space—and we had to have it.
Offering a chic, fashion-forward inventory including apparel, shoes, jewelry, swimwear, accessories and more, The Gatorbug is home to everything from designer dresses to seasonal sales and trendy gift options for every taste, style and budget.
Joining the Wake Forest Road corridor inside Raleigh’s beltline with a curated mix of retailers, Midtown East is anchored by key merchants including Wegmans, Drybar, New Balance, Crumbl Cookies, Snooze A.M. Eatery, Cava Grill and Starbucks, etc.
