Part three of our focus on the motivation of our newest ad concepts. We hope you enjoy!

I usually take the early morning Core Power Yoga class, but today I decided to mix up my routine. My old college roommate, Sarah, called earlier in the week and invited me to join her at The Sweat Shoppe for a mid-afternoon cycling class, promising that we could first grab a healthy lunch and catch up. ‘Sounds like fun — I’m in!’ I told her, adding a calendar reminder in my smart phone for Saturday. What better way to precede a great workout than treating ourselves to a tasty lunch and sharing an abundance of laughs at Le Pain Quotidien?

Headed out the door, I grabbed my gym bag, wallet, keys, and a recent photo book I’d created to share with my long-lost friend. After all it had been several months since we’d really had the chance to catch up in person — life sometimes seems to get in the way.

After parking, we strolled over to Le Pain Quotidien for an al fresco lunch. Perusing the menu, the lentil and avocado salad with flax seeds and basil vinaigrette quickly caught my eye, and Sarah ordered the roasted carrot hummus with coriander-harissa chickpeas, cucumber, frisee and artichoke hearts. The sky was slightly overcast but the temperature was perfect. Birds enthusiastically chirped overhead. As we enjoyed our casual lunch, we eagerly traded stories about recent travels, dating stories, Netflix marathons and we even planned to coordinate and run an upcoming 5k race together. It was refreshing to connect in person.

Following lunch, we did a bit of shopping before our 4 o’clock spin class: new yoga mat on sale at Core Power Yoga for me, and a pair of comfortable Toms at Jacks Shoes of Westlake and two bracelets at Siany for her.

Entering the cycling studio, I ran into one of my co-workers. We quickly traded smiles and 'hellos.’ After getting situated on the bike, Sarah looked over and gave me a thumbs up. The studio is hot; about 84 degrees. I like that everyone goes their own pace and while the class was tough (and hot!), it felt good to challenge myself. I’m even eager to return — maybe Sweat Shoppe will see me regularly!
