Regency’s Grand Ridge Plaza Hosts 2024 Issaquah Film Festival

Last month, Regency’s Grand Ridge Plaza in Issaquah, WA, hosted the 2024 Issaquah Film Festival, an annual event that celebrates the creativity and diversity of independent films. The festival, now in its second year, drew over 300 filmmakers and movie enthusiasts for two days of cinematic exploration and community engagement. It was hosted at Regal Issaquah Highlands, the center’s theater anchor.

Founded by Tarot 77 Entertainment, the festival showcases filmmakers from the greater Pacific Northwest and has quickly become a must-attend event for cinephiles and creators alike. This year’s festival also underscored its commitment to giving back by donating 10% of ticket sales to the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank. Regency Centers joined in this charitable effort, contributing an additional $2,500, ten times more than the festival’s donation and enough to cover 10,000 meals.

The festival kicked off with an exclusive VIP party on Friday, August 3, where filmmakers, their families, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the art of filmmaking. The red carpet event was a true highlight, featuring a spread from Grand Ridge Plaza eateries, including Flavor of India Bar & GrillRam Restaurant & Brewery, Bai Tong Thai Restaurant, MOD Pizza, Agave Cocina & Tequila Bar, and Caffe Ladro. Their culinary offerings were met with rave reviews, adding a delicious touch to an already unforgettable evening.

The remainder of the weekend included film screenings, guest panels, and an awards ceremony. Attendees were treated to a diverse selection of films, with categories including “Indie Issaquah,” “Mature Matinee,” and “Cinematic Shorts.” The guest panels, featuring industry experts, actors, and directors, provided valuable perspectives on the evolving landscape of film and storytelling.
